KONY 2012 – Join The Revolution + Beyond Famous

I am sure that most of you have already heard of KONY 2012. If you haven´t watched the video yet, read on. If you don´t know what I am talking about, read on. If you want to make the world a better place, read on. It´s time to make a difference.

KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by “Invisible Children”, an organization that has been fighting for human rights in Uganda for almost a decade. The aim of this video is to make Joseph Kony, the Ugandan guerrilla group leader and head of the LRA (Lord´s Resistance Army), famous. Nobody wants to celebrate this evil man, but support is urgently needed in order to find and arrest Joseph Kony to set a precedent for international justice.

Kony and his men want to turn Uganda into a theocracy ruled by Kony´s interpretation of the 10 commandments. To reach their goal, the LRA commits horrible crimes against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape and cannibalism. To date, Kony and his men have abducted more than 65,000 children to fight for them since the rebellion has begun in 1986.

Last year, thanks to “Invisible Children“, the USA have deputed 100 soldiers to help the Ugandan army capture Joseph Kony. Now it´s up to us, up to you and me to support this effort and make Kony and his injustice known to the world. Every voice counts! It offers a closer look at the LRA and explores the solutions put forward by leaders of the currently-affected areas of CAR, DRC, and South Sudan, where local communities continue to live under the constant threat of LRA violence. This generation has responded to the call to make Joseph Kony famous.
